Vikings Have Successful Outing At Wayne State Duals

DETROIT, Mich. – The Cleveland State fencing team had a successful day of competition at the Wayne State Duals Sunday, with the CSU women going 2-0 and the CSU men going 1-1 on the day. Sunday's duals marked the first competition for the Vikings during the adjusted 2020-21 season.

The Cleveland State women picked up their wins by scores to 15-9 and 16-8 over the host Warriors, while the Cleveland State men earned a 16-11 victory over Wayne State, while dropping a 14-13 match also to WSU.

The epee unit led the way for the CSU women by picking up matching 6-3 victories in both matches, while the foil unit combined for seven victories on the day.

The CSU men were paced by the epee unit which picked up eight victories, while the foil unit was responsible for three victories on the day.

Wayne State did not field a sabre unit for either the men or the women.
