Cleveland State Esports Welcomes Zachary Schmitt

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State University Esports program welcomed Zachary Schmitt on Tuesday. Scmitt is currently a sophomore at CSU and is enrolled in the civil engineering program.

Schmitt is from North Olmsted, Ohio, and attended North Olmsted High School. During that time, he was named to the Honor Roll.

Scmitt played with CGNA S9 in high school, which is an online team that advanced to the Grand Finals.

Coach PJ Farrell said, "Overwatch is a very fast-paced game that requires tons of skill and proper positioning, and with the release of Overwatch 2 in October, the game will only get faster!  Zach is so passionate about watching pros, studying Overwatch 2 strategies, and focusing on our main tank role, that he will be the perfect example of a leader our young program needs."

Schmitt is the son of Richard and Shelly Schmitt.
