A LOOK AT WHAT'S HAPPENING

CROSS COUNTRY
    •    Cleveland State will continue its season at the Lock Haven Invitational this Saturday (September 26) in Lock Haven, Pa.
    •    The Vikings placed seventh out of 12 teams at the Friendship Invitational on Saturday as Ashlyn Woods paced the Vikings finishing 17th overall with a time of 19:16.

MEN’S GOLF
    •    CSU will compete at the Northern Kentucky Collegiate Classic on Sunday and Monday (Sept. 27-28).
    •    The Vikings tied for 10th of 16 teams at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational last week.
    •    Patrick Luth was CSU’s top finisher, tying for 28th place with rounds of 72-69-73 -214.

WOMEN’S GOLF
    •    The Vikings return to action at the Ball State Cardinal Classic on Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 21-22).
    •    CSU has not been in action since tying for second at the YSU Kickoff on Aug. 31.
    •    Allyson Hackman (3rd) and Hannah Bennie (4th) both had top-five finishes at the event.

MEN’S SOCCER
    •    The Vikings (2-4, 0-1 HL) play two matches this week, hosting Cincinnati on Wednesday (Sept. 23) and traveling to Valparaiso on Saturday (Sept. 26) at 8:00 pm.
    •    CSU dropped its League opener, 1-0, in overtime to Wright State on Saturday at Krenzler Field.

WOMEN’S SOCCER
    •    CSU (4-4-1) will open Horizon League play on Saturday (Sept. 26) when the Vikings host Detroit.
    •    The Vikings were scheduled to play at UIC last Friday (Sept. 18), but the match was canceled due to heavy rain and unplayable field conditions. The match will be made-up at a later date.

MEN’S TENNIS
    •    Cleveland State will continue its fall season at the WMU/Vredevelt Invite this weekend (Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26).
    •    The Vikings brought home four singles titles and one doubles title from the Valpo Fall Invitational over the weekend – Benjamin Slade (B Singles), Kevin Goth (C Singles), Mirko Radosevic (E Singles), William Malm (D Singles Consolation), Joe VanMeter/Benjamin Slade (B Doubles Consolation).

WOMEN’S TENNIS
    •    The Vikings will continue their fall season at the Indiana Tournament this weekend (Sept. 25-27).
    •    CSU opened the season at the Akron Shootout last weekend against UMBC, YSU, and the host Zips.
    •    Princess Gbadamosi led the Vikings with a 2-1 singles record playing at the top spot, while the doubles team of Morgan Nix and Victoria Bensimon had a team-best 2-1 doubles mark.

VOLLEYBALL
    •    The Vikings will begin Horizon League play this week, hosting Green Bay (Friday, Sept. 25) and Milwaukee (Saturday, Sept. 26).
    • Cleveland State finished the non-league portion of its schedule with an 11-3 record, and has won three straight matches heading into this weekend.
    •    The Vikings captured the Toledo Blue/Gold Invitational Title over the weekend, picking up wins over Radford, Robert Morris, and Toledo. Christina Toth was named the Tournament MVP, while Grace Kauth and Gina Kilner both earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

VIKING OF THE WEEK

Christina Toth, Volleyball, Senior, Lyndhurst, Ohio

Toth was named the Toledo Blue/Gold Invitational MVP after leading the Vikings to a 3-0 record and the tournament title. She posted 52 kills, including a career-high 24 against Radford. Toth averaged 4.72 kills per set, and posted a .440 (52-8-100) hitting percentage.

OTHER TOP PERFORMERS

Gina Kilner: The volleyball sophomore was named to the Toledo All-Tournament team, dishing out 136 assists in three matches with a career-high 56 vs. Radford.

Benjamin Slade: The men’s tennis freshman won the “B” Singles Draw and the “B” Doubles Consolation Draw at the Valparaiso Invitational over the weekend.

Ashlyn Woods: The cross country junior placed 17th at the Friendship Invitational on Saturday with a time of 19:16 - the 23rd fastest 5K time at Cleveland State.
