A look at what's happening in Cleveland State Athletics...

Men's Basketball
-The Vikings will continue play at the CBI with a quarterfinal matchup against top-seeded High Point Monday, with the semifinals set for Tuesday, March 26 and the championship slated for Wednesday, March 27.
-Cleveland State picked up a 51-49 victory over Northern Colorado in the first round.
-Tristan Enaruna led all scorers with 22 points on the game, including the game-winning basket as time expired.

Women's Basketball
-Cleveland State finished the 2023-24 campaign with a 29-6 record, marking the second highest single-season win total in program history.
-The Vikings made their fourth straight postseason appearance, earning a spot in the inaugural WBIT field.

Wrestling
-The Vikings concluded the year with Ben Smith and Daniel Bucknavich competing at the NCAA Championships in Kansas City.
-Smith was making his third appearance at the NCAA Championships, while Bucknavich was making his debut.
-Bucknavich recorded his first NCAA victory with a 5-2 sudden victory over Nash Hutmacher of Nebraska.

Fencing
-Jesse Ndjeka competed at the NCAA Championships last weekend as one of 24 fencers in the country to qualify for the men's epee event.
-Ndjeka finished tied for 21st and collected six victories over five rounds of pool play.

Lacrosse
-Cleveland State will take to the air for their two games this week, traveling to Jacksonville on Wednesday, March 27 and Air Force on Sunday, March 31.
-The Vikings extended their winning streak to four last time out, marking the longest win streak in program history after defeating Robert Morris 13-6.
-Parker Yearego led the way with a season-best six points on four goals and two assists, while Connor Kernan moved to 4-0 in goal after making a season-best 11 saves.

Women's Tennis
-Cleveland State will begin Horizon League play this week, hosting Youngstown State on Saturday, March 30.
-The Vikings enter #HLTennis play as the preseason favorite, after being tabbed to finish first in the league's preseason poll earlier this year.
-Last time out, the Vikings finished non-league play with a pair of 7-0 sweeps over Duquesne and Niagara.

Men's Tennis
-The Vikings will continue Horizon League play on the road this week, traveling to Northern Kentucky on Friday, March 29 and IUPUI on Saturday, March 30.
-Last time out, Cleveland State opened #HLTennis play with back-to-back victories over Youngstown State (5-2) and Chicago State (6-1).
-The Vikings enter the week with a 12-6 record on the year and a 2-0 mark in league play.

Track & Field
-Cleveland State will be back in action at the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open on Saturday, March 30.
-This will mark the second event of the outdoor campaign for the Vikings.
-Last time out, the Vikings posted 16 top-10 finishes at the Emory Spring Break Classic, including event wins from Grace Frye in the Shot Put and Natalie Keller in the 10,000.

Softball
-Cleveland State will travel to Akron for a non-league matchup on Monday, March 25, before hosting Oakland in a three-game series on Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30 in the 2024 home opener.
-The Vikings enter the week with six wins on the year, while also holding a 2-1 mark in Horizon League play.

Men's Golf
-The Vikings will be off from competition until April, returning to action at the Butler Spring Invitational on Monday, April 1 and Tuesday, April 2.
-Last time out, Cleveland State recorded a fifth place finish in the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate hosted by Tennessee Tech.
-Brody Simms was named the Horizon League Co-Player of the Week after finishing tied for fourth individually.

Women's Golf
-The Vikings are set for The Julie Invitational hosted by Northern Kentucky, with action taking place on Monday, March 25 and Tuesday, March 26.
-Cleveland State hosted the Nevel Meade Collegiate last time out, with the Vikings posting a fifth place finish as a team.
-Olivia Swain and Kaitlin Kormuth each recorded top-10 finishes with both finishing tied for ninth at 16-over par.

Viking of the Week Nominees
Lincoln Battle, Men's Tennis
Went 2-0 at No. 1 singles and 2-0 at No. 3 doubles, helping the Vikings to a 2-0 start in Horizon League play with wins over Youngstown State and Chicago State.

Tristan Enaruna, Men's Basketball
Tallied 22 points and 10 rebounds in the CBI opening round victory over Northern Colorado, including the game-winning basket as time expired.

Brody Simms, Men's Golf
Finished tied for fourth at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate, carding rounds of 71-77-70 to finish at 5-over par for the tournament. Recorded eight birdies over three rounds.

Oihane Vicario, Women's Tennis
Went 2-0 at No. 1 singles with a pair of straight-set wins and 2-0 at No. 1 doubles, helping the Vikings to a pair of 7-0 sweeps over Duquesne and Niagara.
