A look at what's happening in Cleveland State Athletics…

Men's Soccer
-Cleveland State returns home this week to face Oakland on Saturday, October 8 at 7 p.m. The game will serve as Alumni Day for the Vikings and is a rematch of the 2021 Horizon League Championship game.
-The Vikings won both their road league games this past week, shutting out IUPUI on Wednesday, 2-0, and then scoring three second-half goals to come from behind to beat Purdue Fort Wayne 3-2.
-The Green and White are off to their fourth-best start in program history with a 7-1-2 overall record.
-Bojan Kolevski and Pablo Kawecki are atop the Horizon League in goals (7) and points (17). 

Women's Soccer
-Cleveland State will play a pair of Horizon League games this week, starting with Robert Morris at home on Thursday, October 6 at 7 p.m. and then traveling to Green Bay on Sunday, October 9 for a 2 p.m. game.
-The Vikings tied Wright State 1-1 on the road in their lone game of the week. Kathryn Ramicone accounted for the lone goal on a penalty kick in the first half.

Volleyball
-Cleveland State will hit the road for two matches this weekend, traveling to Milwaukee (Friday, October 7) and Green Bay (Saturday, October 8).
-Last time out, the Vikings picked up back-to-back wins against Robert Morris and Oakland, improving to 3-2 in #HLVB play.
-The match against Oakland marked Alumni Day for Cleveland State, as they welcomed back 30+ former Vikings to Woodling Gymnasium.

Cross Country
-Cleveland State will have the week off from competition, returning to action at the Falcon Invite on Friday, October 14.
-Last time out, Kiannah Sarver paced the Vikings at the Notre Dame Invitational, posting a 5K time of 19:51.

Men's Golf
-Cleveland State will be back in action this week, when the Vikings host the annual Tom Tontimonia Invitational on Monday, October 3 and Tuesday, October 4 at Lakewood Country Club.
-Last time out, the Vikings finished seventh at the Valpo Fall Invitational, paced by Andrew Kaye who finished T-13 individually.
-Entering the week, Andrew Kaye leads the team with a 73.0 scoring average, while Jack Hanus owns a 73.8 scoring average on the year.

Men's Tennis
-Cleveland State will have a few weeks off from competition, returning to action at the ITA Midwest Regional October 20-24.
-Last time out, the Vikings participated in the ITA All-American Championships for the fourth straight year, with Mikael Erler, Maxime Mareschal-Hay and Kade Mindry earning spots in the field.
-Erler and Mindry both went 1-1 on the weekend.

Women's Tennis
-The Vikings will take the week off from competition, returning to the courts when they host the Viking Invitational Friday, October 14 – Sunday, October 16.
-Cleveland State opened its fall slate at the Michigan State Invitational last time out, led by Tereze Vevere who posted a perfect 3-0 singles record on the weekend.

Swimming & Diving
-The Cleveland State men's team was picked third while the women were selected to the fifth spot in the Horizon League Preseason Coaches' Poll.
-Both teams will start their season at home on Saturday, October 15 against St. Bonaventure and Kenyon at 1 p.m.

Viking of the Week Nominees
Pablo Kawecki, Men's Soccer
Scored two goals including the game-winner and added an assist in the 3-2 come-from-behind victory against Purdue Fort Wayne.

Liv Fain, Women's Soccer
Recorded a season-best six saves in the 1-1 draw at league-leading Wright State. 

Laken Voss, Volleyball
Combined for a team-best 30 kills in the two wins last week, while also notching her fourth double-double of the season with 13 kills and 11 digs against Oakland.
