A look at what's happening in Cleveland State Athletics… 

Men's Soccer
-Cleveland State (4-4-1, 2-2-0) will welcome Duquesne this Tuesday (October 15) before continuing HL play at IUPUI Saturday (October 19).
-The Vikings took down Ohio State, 3-2, this past weekend, marking the second straight year that CSU has topped OSU.
-Cleveland State had dropped a 3-2 decision in overtime at Cincinnati earlier last week after rallying to force overtime.
-Gabriel Pewu scored three goals and added an assist on the week while Lawrence Karpeh had a goal and an assist.

Women's Soccer
-The Vikings (4-6-3, 2-2-1) will return to the pitch for a single match this week, traveling to IUPUI for a 1:00 p.m. contest on Saturday, October 19.
-Last time out, Cleveland State picked up a 3-0 victory at Northern Kentucky behind two goals from Grace Krosky and one goal from Essence Canady.
-Grace Krosky became the 21st player in Cleveland State history to score two goals in a single match.
-Elena Gutlove, Helena Novatsidis and Essence Canady posted assists on CSU's three goals against Northern Kentucky.

Volleyball
-Cleveland State (5-12, 1-5) will close out a three-match homestand this weekend, hosting Youngstown State on Friday, October 18 and Oakland on Saturday, October 19.
-Last time out, the Vikings dropped a pair of matches against league-leading Wright State and UIC.
-For the season, Trinniti Hall is averaging a team-best 3.33 kills and 1.12 blocks per set, while Lindsey Tout is averaging a team-high 4.55 digs per set.

Cross Country
-The Vikings will take a break from competition over the next two weeks, returning to action at the 2019 Horizon League Championship on Saturday, November 2.
-This year's #HLXC Championship will be hosted by Northern Kentucky, with the women's 6K slated for a 12:00 p.m. start.
-Last time out, the Vikings finished second at the Disney Cross Country Challenge, paced by Anna Brandt (7th), Olivia Hammons (9th) and Hannah Korte (12th) who all recorded top-15 individual finishes.

Men's Tennis
-The Vikings will continue their fall season at the ITA Midwest Regionals this weekend, with the Qualifying Singles Draw beginning on Thursday, October 17 and the Singles Main Draw starting on Friday, October 18.
-Last time out, Nico Mostardi and Matthew Terry both appeared in the Qualifying Draw of the ITA All-American Championship, with Mostardi advancing to the second round and Terry bowing out in the first round.
-So far this year, Terry owns a team-best 9-1 singles record, while Mostardi and Luke Phillips both have five wins.

Men's Golf
-Cleveland State will conclude its fall season at the Dayton Flyer Invitational this week, playing 54 holes over Monday, October 14 and Tuesday, October 15.
-Last time out, the Vikings hosted the Tom Tontimonia Invitational, with junior Zach Robbins shooting a final round 67 to finish tied for 13th in the individual standings.
-Sophomore Jack Hanus tied his career-best round with a 70 on the final day and finished tied for 27th overall.
-As a team, the Vikings finished sixth with a 54-hole score of 872.

Women's Golf
-The Vikings return to action at the Dayton Flyer Invitational this Monday (October 14) and Tuesday (October 15), closing out a five-tournament fall slate.
-So far this fall, junior Ashley Knight leads the Vikings with a 75.7 scoring average, while classmate Madison Butler ranks second with 76.0 scoring average.

Men's Swimming & Diving
-Cleveland State will open the 2019-20 season this weekend at the Akron Zips Classic.
-Denison, Miami (Ohio) and Xavier will also be competing in the two-day event.
-The meet will mark the debut of first-year head coach Hannah Burandt.

Women's Swimming & Diving
-Cleveland State will open the 2019-20 season this weekend at the Akron Zips Classic.

Viking Of The Week
Gabriel Pewu, Men's Soccer
Pewu factored into four goals on the week and played a major role in Cleveland State beating Ohio State for the second straight season. He began his week by tallying a second-half goal at Cincinnati that helped the Vikings come back and force overtime. The senior saved his best for Saturday against the Big Ten foe as he was involved in all three goals, scoring twice, in a 3-2 win at Ohio State.
