A look at what's happening in Cleveland State Athletics...

Volleyball
-Cleveland State (5-10, 1-3) will split its time at home and on the road this week, traveling to Wright State for a midweek matchup on Wednesday, October 9 before hosting UIC on Sunday, October 13.
-Last time out, the Vikings split their matches against Milwaukee and Green Bay, picking up their first #HLVB win of the season in a five-set thriller over the Phoenix.
-Senior Trinniti Hall led the Viking offense averaging 3.30 kills/set, while sophomore Lindsey Tout (4.40 digs/set) and junior Hannah Greene (1.60 blocks/set) led the defensive efforts.

Women's Soccer
-The Vikings (3-6-3, 1-2-1) will begin a two-game roadswing this weekend, traveling to Northern Kentucky for a 7:00 p.m. contest on Saturday, November 12.
-Last time out, Cleveland State dropped a tightly contested 1-0 decision against Youngstown State, and earned a come-from-behind 2-2 double-overtime tie against Oakland.
-The freshmen duo of Rylee Bussen and Grace Krosky both recorded their first career goals against Oakland.

Men's Soccer
-Cleveland State (3-3-1, 2-2-0) will close a three-game road trip with non-league matches against Cincinnati (Wednesday, October 9) and Ohio State (Saturday, October 12) this week.
-The Vikings dropped a 1-0 decision at Green Bay this past weekend despite having an advantage in shots and corner kicks.

Cross Country
-The Vikings will return to action this weekend, traveling south to the state of Florida for the Disney Cross Country Classic on Saturday, October 12.
-This will mark the fourth time that the Vikings are competing in the Disney Cross Country Classic, with the women's 5K slated for an 8:25 a.m. start at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla.

Men's Golf
-Cleveland State will host its lone home tournament of the year on Monday, October 7 and Tuesday, October 8, welcoming teams for the Tom Tontimonia Invitational at the Lakewood Country Club in Westlake, Ohio.
-So far this year, junior Zach Robbins leads the Vikings with a 71.5 scoring average, while freshman Gunnar McCollins has a 74.8 scoring average.

Women's Golf
-The Vikings will have the week off from competition, as they are set to close out their fall schedule at the Dayton Flyer Invitational on Tuesday, October 15 and Wednesday, October 16.
-Last time out, the Vikings finished eighth at the Shirley Spork Invitational, with Ashley Knight tying for seventh place individually after shooting rounds of 75-73-75.

Men's Tennis
-The Vikings will continue action at the ITA All-American Championship this week, with Nico Mostardi and Matthew Terry set to begin Qualifying Draw matches Monday, October 7.
-Matthew Terry posted a 4-0 record in the Pre-Qualifying Draw over the weekend to earn a spot in the Qualifying Draw, while Luke Phillips went 2-1 in the Pre-Qualifier to also represent the Vikings.
-The trio of Clark Bilinovich, Jack Santilli and Raul Teichmann were in action at the Purdue Fall Invitational last weekend, with Jack Santilli bringing home two singles wins for the Vikings.

Women's Tennis
-Cleveland State will take a break from competition until the end of the month, when the Vikings return to action at the Akron Shootout October 25-27.
-Last time out, the Vikings hosted the fourth annual Viking Invitational, with the tandem of Klara Mrcela and Lara Prosenjak being named the Doubles Champion.
-In singles action, Kateryna Avram and Blanche Lenoan led the way for the Vikings, each picking up a pair of wins on the weekend. 

Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving
-Cleveland State formally dedicated the new Wally Morton Locker Rooms for both the men's and women's programs this past weekend, with over 100 supporters in attendance.
-The locker rooms – which can be seen here – were funded with over 200 contributions to the program's Extra Mile Campaign.

Viking Of The Week
Matthew Terry, Men's Tennis
The Junior remained perfect this season with a 4-0 record in the ITA All-American Championship Pre-Qualifying Draw, earning one of 16 spots in the Qualifying bracket. Terry, who picked up all four wins in a span of 48 hours to improve to 8-0 this season, notched victories over opponents from Baylor, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Ohio State.
