A look at what's happening in Cleveland State Athletics...
Men's Basketball
- Cleveland State (5-12, 0-4) concludes a four-game road trip by heading to IUPUI this Thursday (January 10) and to UIC this Saturday (January 12).
- The Vikings had second-half leads in both of their games this past weekend but were unable to hang on, dropping an 83-76 decision at Milwaukee and falling 90-89 on a buzzer-beater to Green Bay.
- Tyree Appleby averaged 30.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists over the two games.
- Dennis Felton Radio Show: The weekly call-in show about Cleveland State basketball will return on Monday, January 7, taking place at Becky's Bar and Grill Downtown from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Al Pawlowski will serve as the host, with head coach Dennis Felton talking about all things Viking Basketball. The show can be heard on WHK, AM-1420.
Women's Basketball
- Cleveland State (6-9, 3-1) will return to the road this week, making its annual trip to Wisconsin to take on Green Bay (Thursday, January 10) and Milwaukee (Saturday, January 12).
- The Vikings enter the week with a 3-1 #HLWBB record, marking the third straight season that the Vikings have picked up three wins out of their first four league contests.
- Last time out freshman Savanna Crockett recorded her team-leading eighth double-double of the season with 10 points and 15 rebounds against UIC, making her one of just 19 players nationwide with 8+ double-doubles on the year.
Wrestling
- Cleveland State opens Eastern Wrestling League action this week and has three duals in total.
- CSU will face Columbia and EWL foe George Mason Thursday, January 10, before heading to Rider Friday, January 11.
- The Vikings were most recently in action at the Lock Haven Classic at the end of December where Nico O'Dor (157) and Ben Smith (197) both won their weight classes.
Men's Swim & Dive
- Cleveland State will compete in a tri-dual at IUPUI this Friday (January 11) and Saturday (January 12) that also includes UIC.
- The Vikings are 2-1 in dual action after topping Ashland in their most recent action in early December.
- Dominik Niedzialek owns the fastest time in the HL in the 200 back and Matthew Martin has the top time in the 200 fly.
Women's Swim & Dive
- Cleveland State will compete in a tri-dual at IUPUI this Friday (January 11) and Saturday (January 12) that also includes UIC.
- The Vikings are 2-1-1 in dual action after topping Ashland in their most recent meet in early December.
- Molly McNamara owns the fastest times in the HL in the 200 fly and 400 IM while Lexie Kostelnik has the top time in the 1650 free.
Fencing
- Cleveland State opens the second semester by heading to the Detroit Mercy Duals this Saturday, January 12.
- The Viking men are 11-3 on the season while the CSU women are 8-8.
Indoor Track & Field
- Cleveland State will return to action at the Marshall Women's Classic on Saturday, January 12, competing for just the third time during the 2018-19 indoor season.
- The one-day Marshall Women's Classic will take place at the Jeff Small Track and will begin with field events at 12:00 p.m. and running events at 1:00 p.m.

Viking Of The Week
Mariah Miller, Women's Basketball
The Junior averaged a double-double on the week with 14.0 points and 11.5 rebounds per game against IUPUI and UIC. Miller recorded 13 points and eight rebounds against IUPUI, and followed that up with 15 points and 15 rebounds against UIC, helping the Vikings to a 3-1 start in #HLWBB play. On the week, Miller posted a .545 field goal percentage (12-for-22).
