A LOOK AT WHAT'S HAPPENING

Men's Basketball
• CSU (8-18, 4-10 HL) returns home to host Northern Kentucky on Thursday (7:45pm) and Wright State on Saturday (3:30pm).
• CSU lost at League leader Valparaiso to begin last week, 78-57, but bounced back with a 66-63 win at UIC. Rob Edwards averaged 13.5 points and 4.0 rebounds, while Kenny Carpenter averaged 10.0 points and 5.5 rebounds.

Women's Basketball
• CSU (12-13, 7-7) begins its final homestand of the regular season this week, hosting Wright State (Thursday, Feb. 16) and Northern Kentucky (Saturday, Feb. 18).
• Khayla Livingston moved into the top-10 in the CSU career record book in three-pointers made last week, with six makes in games at Green Bay and Milwaukee. She is now ninth with 134 three-pointers made at CSU.
• Ashanti Abshaw recorded back-to-back 20-point performances last week increasing her season scoring average to 18.4 points per game - a mark that ranks her second among league players.

Men's Lacrosse
• CSU (0-2) returns home to host three squads for the Sixth City Showdown this weekend. Four games will be played over two days with CSU hosting Baldwin Wallace (Saturday, 5:00 p.m.) and John Carroll (Sunday, 12pm).
• The Vikings played their first road game in program history Sunday, dropping a 22-7 decision to No. 7 Duke.
• Danny Tesler scored twice against Duke and had game highs in faceoffs won (14) and ground balls (8).

Softball
• Cleveland State (1-3) plays two games on Saturday and two more on Sunday at the ECU Pirate Clash.
• The Vikings began their season by going 1-3 when they hosted their annual Dome Tournament.
• Mackenzie Joecken, Marissa Marcelli and Mel Woodard each had four hits on the weekend. Joecken also picked up a win in the circle with an eight-inning effort.

Men's Swimming & Diving
• Cleveland State (3-4, 1-2) will next be in action at the Horizon League Championships Feb. 22-25 at UIC.
• Five Vikings swam at the two-day Ohio State Winter Invitational this past weekend. No team scores were kept.
• Sam Sawyer was seventh in the 200 butterfly while Jack MacDonald was ninth in the 200 freestyle.

Women's Swimming & Diving
• Cleveland State (3-6, 1-3) will next be in action at the Horizon League Championships Feb. 22-25 at UIC.
• Eight Vikings swam at the two-day Ohio State Winter Invitational this past weekend. No team scores were kept.
• Chuchu Yang had a trio of top-10 finishes (fifth in the 400 IM, seventh in the 200 back and 10th in the 200 IM).

Men's Tennis
• After a brief two-match homestand, Cleveland State (4-2) will return to the road this week, traveling to Butler (Thursday, Feb. 16) and IUPUI (Friday, Feb. 17).
• Last weekend, the Vikings opened their home slate with a pair of 4-0 victories over Oberlin and Niagara.
• After playing both matches to clinch last weekend, Mirko Radosevic was the only Viking to go 2-0 in singles play, picking up a win at No. 4 and No. 5 singles.

Women's Tennis
• CSU (3-4) returns to the road this weekend, traveling to DePaul (Saturday, Feb. 18) and Bowling Green (Sunday, Feb. 19).
• Last time out, Cleveland State notched back-to-back 7-0 sweeps over Case Western and Niagara.
• Victoria Bensimon was one of six Vikings to go 2-0 in singles play last weekend.

Women's Track & Field
• After a week off, the Vikings will return to action at the Kent State Tuneup this Saturday (Feb. 18).
• Last time out, the Vikings competed at the YSU National Invitational, with the Cleveland State DMR team placing fifth and Samantha Butterbaugh placing seventh in the 3000 Meter Run.

Wrestling
• Cleveland State (2-9, 1-5) closes the regular season this weekend by hosting a tri-dual Saturday, Feb. 18, as it welcomes Gardner-Webb and Northern Illinois to Woodling Gymnasium.
• The Vikings closed their EWL slate this past weekend by falling at nationally ranked Edinboro (2-46) and at home to Clarion (6-34).
• Evan Cheek won twice this past weekend to finish with a 5-1 EWL mark. He owns a team-leading 22 wins.

VIKING OF THE WEEK

Victoria Bensimon| Senior | Women's Tennis | Cocoa Beach, Fla.

Bensimon posted a 2-0 mark at No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles over the weekend to help the Vikings to a pair of wins. Her two wins at No. 2 singles extended her win streak to five straight matches. Bensimon also became just the seventh player in program history to record 65 career singles wins.

OTHER TOP PERFORMERS

Evan Cheek | So. | Wrestling
Earned a pair of wins over the weekend to finish with a 5-1 mark in EWL matches.

Danny Tesler | Fr. | Men's Lacrosse
Scored two goals at No. 7 Duke and also won 14 face offs with eight ground balls.

Mel Woodard | Jr. | Softball
Hit .308 (4-13) with one run, a triple a three RBI in four games over the weekend.
