Women’s Basketball Drops 78-53 Contest Against IUPUI To Snap Winstreak

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's basketball team saw its record setting winstreak come to an end Monday evening, as the Vikings dropped their first game in over seven weeks, falling to IUPUI 78-53. With the loss, the Vikings now stand at 11-2 overall this season and own an even 1-1 record in Horizon League play.

Game Stats
· Mariah White led the Viking offense with 20 points, while Savanna Crockett added 15 points.
· Savanna Crockett posted a team-high 11 rebounds on the game, while Nadia Dumas added six.
· As a team, the Vikings finished with five blocked shots – four coming from Nadia Dumas and one from Savanna Crockett.
· The Vikings were held to a .356 clip from the floor, and recorded just nine assists on 21 made field goals.

Game Notes
· Savanna Crockett recorded her second double-double of the season with her 15 points and 11 rebounds against IUPUI.
· Mariah White notched her second 20-point game of the year Monday, as she finished right on the number with 20 points against the Jaguars.
· Nadia Dumas set a personal-best with her four blocked shots against IUPUI, and now has 13 total blocks this year.
· Monday's loss snapped an 11-game winstreak for the Vikings, which set a program record for consecutive wins.
· The Vikings were closing out a three-game homestand on Monday, as they fell to 4-1 at the Wolstein Center this season.

For the first time this season, the Vikings found themselves down early, as IUPUI was able to get out to a quick start and pick up a double-digit advantage late in the first quarter. The Jaguars then controlled play throughout the second frame, taking a 40-22 advantage into the halftime break.

Although IUPUI was able to extend its lead throughout the first part of the third quarter, the Vikings used a 14-4 run late in the frame to climb their way back into the contest, and head into the final 10 minutes of action trailing 57-40.

The Jaguars were able to regain control of the game over the opening minutes of the fourth quarter then, as IUPUI was able to close out the final 10 minutes of play and come away with the 78-53 victory.
