    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Cleveland State softball duo of Dara Toman and Erica McNew each earned a spot on the Horizon League Softball Academic All-League Team Friday afternoon (June 14), as the Horizon League announced all eight of its Spring Academic All-League Teams.

CSU will open the double-elimination tournament Wednesday with the week's very first game vs. Wright State at 11:00 a.m. CT. Cleveland State comes into the tournament as the league's fourth seed with a 10-9 league record, while Wright State heads into the tournament with a 10-11 league record as the fifth seed.

    CHICAGO- Erica McNew and Cynthia Woodard each hit a home run Saturday, helping the Cleveland State Vikings (21-24, 10-8 HL) split a Horizon League softball doubleheader in Chicago at the UIC Flames. McNew and Woodard led the charge for CSU with their homers in a game one 7-4 win, but the Vikings were unable to keep that momentum going in game two, falling 7-0.

The Vikings took game one of the day 6-3 before falling 5-4 in game two.

    Cleveland- In a huge series in the Horizon League softball standings, a Cynthia Woodard grand slam in the first inning of game two helped the Cleveland State Vikings (18-22, 9-7 HL) split a home doubleheader with the Valparaiso Crusaders (24-22, 9-8 HL) Saturday afternoon. After falling in game one 3-2, Woodard's homer helped CSU to a 4-1 game two victory.

    Cleveland- The Cleveland State Vikings' softball team (14-18, 5-3) used a high-powered offensive attack to ignite a late game one win and dominating game two win Wednesday, defeating Detroit (4-34, 1-10) in a midweek Horizon League doubleheader. CSU took game one 8-7 in extra-inning comeback fashion, while winning game two 9-0 in five innings.
