Toman and McNew Selected to Horizon League All-Tournament Team

CHICAGO- Cleveland State senior Dara Toman and redshirt freshman Erica McNew were once again honored by the Horizon League Saturday afternoon, as both Vikings were selected to the 2013 Horizon League tournament All-Tournament Team for their performances this past week in Chicago.

The honors keep rolling in for both players from the Horizon League, as both were first team `All-League' selections at the end of the regular season. Toman also won the league's `Player of the Year' honor with McNew taking home the league's `Newcomer of the Year' award at the end of the regular season.

Both players shined for CSU all week long, helping the Vikings go 1-2 in the tournament. For the week Toman went 5-10 with two RBI's and one home run, while McNew went 4-10 with five RBI's. The duo combined for seven of Cleveland State's 10 RBI's for the tournament.

As the 2013 season comes to a close for the CSU team as a whole, two incredible individual seasons come to a close as well. For the year McNew led the Vikings in batting average (.413), home runs (18), RBI's (44), and runs scored (42). Toman was second on the team in each of those categories as she finished the year with a .373 batting average, 15 home runs, 38 RBI's and 39 runs scored. The senior first baseman also led the team in doubles (11) and triples (4).
