The Cleveland State wrestling team competed and hosted the 2014 EWL Wrestling tournament on Saturday. Sophomore Riley Shaw finished third for the second straight year and junior Matt Donohoe took third as well.
On Saturday, March 8, former Cleveland State wrestler Matt Ghaffari, EWL secretary/treasurer Tom Tontimonia, and former long-time Pittsburgh head coach Randy Stottlemyer will be inducted into the 2014 EWL Hall of Fame.
The Cleveland State wrestling team went 1-1 in their final meets of the regular season, defeating Gardner-Webb 20-18 and tied Ohio, 19-19. However, Ohio was awarded one point after the dual was over and won by criteria.
The Cleveland State wrestling team will be in action away from home for their final matches of the regular season as CSU will take on Gardner-Webb and Ohio.
Cleveland State Wrestling adds four student-athletes in the early signing period. All four have finished highly in their state tournaments and look to have standout senior seasons on both the state and national levels.
