ATHENS, Ohio- The Cleveland State wrestling team went 1-1 in their final meets of the regular season, defeating Gardner-Webb 20-18 and tied Ohio, 19-19.  However, OU was awarded one point after the dual was over and won by criteria.

The Vikings (3-11) had wins from Xavier Dye (184), Daniel King (133), Matt Donohoe (165), and Nick Corba (174) against the Ohio Bobcats.  Against Gardner-Webb, CSU had wins from King, Nick Montgomery (149), R.J. LaBeef (157), Dye, and Riley Shaw (285).

Dye's first win of the day was an impressive tech fall (15-0) over Gray Jones of Gardner-Webb and against Ohio, he won by major decision (13-4) over Ryan Garringer.  King also went 2-0 on the mats winning by forfeit against Ohio and defeated Robbie Golde, 8-2 by decision.  His two wins gave him a team leading 22 wins to finish the regular season.  Donohoe pinned (1:19) Ohio's Harrison Hightower.  Corba defeated Ohio's Marshal Willet by decision, 3-2.  Montgomery also won by decision, giving him nine on the year over Tyler Ziegler of Gardner-Webb.  LaBeef earned his seventh decision victory over Cole Graves of Gardner-Webb.  Shaw recorded his fourth pin (4:20) of the season over Gardner-Webb's Justin Kozera.   

Cleveland State will return to action on Saturday, March 8 as CSU will be hosting and competing in the 2014 EWL Wrestling Tournament at Woodling Gymnasium.  Wrestling will begin at 10:00 a.m.  For tickets and information please call 216-687-4848.
