CLEVELAND - Three Vikings posted a pair of wins a piece, but UIC outscored CSU in the final meet at Busbey Natatorium this year, claiming a 129-103 victory on Saturday (Feb. 5) afternoon.

The Vikings got wins down the stretch from senior Samantha Jones in the 100 back (59.78), junior Kirsty McKechnie in the 500 free (5:11.63) and sophomore Marianne Lionell in the 100 breast (1:06.40), but it was not enough to the Flames, who scored the final win of the night in the 200 free relay (1:40.15).

Jones also posted a top mark in the 100 fly with a 58.77. McKechnie scored an additional win in the 1,000 free (10:39.29), while Lionell finished first in the 50 free (24.46).

Freshman Deanna Raedel scored a close win in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:59.25, while the 200 medley relay team of Jones, Lionell, senior Marlene Przykling and Raedel swam to a first-place 1:49.96.

"This was a tough meet for us," head coach Mike Lehto said. "It was the first time this season that we really had to come out and swim back-to-back dual meets. We didn't get the win, but we did put up some fast times, so that is a good sign. But it is disappointing for our seniors."

Beforehand, the five Viking seniors - Tina Abbott, Jones, Angie Malloy, Przykling and Sarah Sweitzer - were recognized before swimming in their final meet at Busbey Natatorium.

CSU will next head to Milwaukee for the Horizon League Championships beginning on Feb. 23.
