2004-05 - Junior Season
Established her specialty in the distance free events in
addition to providing stellar contributions in the butterfly and IM
races...clocked new school record in the 1,000 free (10:27.29) as
well as setting a new mark as a member of 800 free (7:43.38) relay
team, which finished third at the Horizon League
Championships...member of school-record setting 400 medley
(3:57.01) relay team...registered the top team times in the 500
free, 1,000 free, 1,650 free and 400 IM to go along with recording
the second-best marks for the Vikings in the 200 free and 200
IM...ranked among the top 10 in the conference in four individual
races...finished fourth in the 1,000 free and seventh in the 500
free at the league meet while adding legs to the 800 free, 400
medley and 400 free relay squads which finished third, fourth and
fifth, respectively during the conference championships.
2003-04 - Sophomore Season
Competed mostly in distance free events, as well as the fly and
IM...top team times in the 200 free, 500 free (5:06.67), 1,000 free
and 200 fly...also recorded second-best team times in the 100 fly,
200 breast, 200 IM and 400 IM...placed first or second in 14 of 28
events, claiming 10 wins...member of the school record-breaking 200
and 400 medley relay teams.
2002-03 - Freshman Season
Joined the Vikings in January, making an immediate impact in the
individual medley and free distance events...a multiple conference
finalist, she placed second in the 200 fly, fifth in the 200 IM,
and third as part of the 400 free relay at the Horizon League
Championships...led off the school record-breaking 800 free relay
team that placed third...had the team's best times in the 200 free
(1:57.05), 100 free (10:34.94), 200 fly (2:08.39), 200 breast
(2:29.56), and 200 IM (2:10.26).
High School
Is still ranked in the top 10 all-time in South Africa in
several events...placed 11th in the open section of the 2002 Midmar
Mile open water swim...placed 10th at the 2000 South African
Olympic Trials...former age-group record holder...also competed in
track...was a member of the Kingspark swim team under Al
Hatfield.
Personal
Daughter of Neil and Veronica McKechnie...born March 7, 1985...majoring in finance and international business...named to the Dean's List...earned CSU's Athletic Academic Excellence Award in 2005...a team tri-captain.
