TOLEDO, Ohio - Cleveland State earned a split at Toledo on Wednesday afternoon in non-league action at Scott Park. After waiting out a pregame 20-minute rain delay, Grace Luginbuhl used both her arm and her bat to lead the Vikings (15-22) to a 2-1 victory in game one, before the Rockets ended CSU's season-high five-game winning streak in emphatic fashion with a 12-1 victory in the nightcap.

In the opener, Luginbuhl (10-11) continued her recent dominance in the circle, giving up just three hits and an unearned run while striking out 10 to win her fifth straight decision. With the performance, she extended her streak without allowing an earned run to 24.0 consecutive innings.

The Lima, Ohio native was also responsible for both of Cleveland State's runs, twice driving in Amber Lowe with clutch two-out hits. In the third, Lowe reached on an error, moved over on a sacrifice and scored on a Luginbuhl double. The duo teamed up again to provide the game-winner in the fifth. Lowe drew a two-out walk, stole second, moved to third on a bunt single by Shannon Graves and scored on a single by Luginbuhl.

Kim Pettitt (12-12) took the loss for Toledo, despite surrendering just six hits and one earned run.

Following a scoreless first inning, the Rockets erupted for five runs in the second and four more in the third to break the second game wide open. Toledo touched three different CSU pitchers for 12 hits and 12 runs in just four innings, led by Jennifer Susman who went 3-for-3 with four RBI.

Lowe and Graves both picked up a pair of hits to pace the Vikings, while Luginbuhl singled in the third inning to extend her hitting streak to eight games.

Pettitt (13-12) scattered seven hits in 5.0 innings to earn the win, while J.J. Thornberry (4-6) took the loss for CSU.

Winners of nine of its last 12 contests, Cleveland State continues its nine-game road swing with a trip to league-leading UIC over the weekend. The teams will square off for a doubleheader on Saturday (April 30) at 2:00 p.m. EDT, followed by the series finale on Sunday (May 1) at noon EDT.
