DELAWARE, Ohio - The Cleveland State cross country team finished 30th at the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan in cool, damp conditions on Friday afternoon. Akron edged Ohio State by 11 points (71-82) to claim the team title on the five kilometer course on the grounds of the Dornoch Golf Club.

Twins Julie Piotrowski and Audrey Piotrowski paced the Viking effort with times of 21:01 and 21:14 to finish 134th and 142nd, respectively. Sherri Douglas finished close behind in 148th with a time of 21:18.

"I thought we ran well in tough conditions," CSU head coach Joe Jaketic said. "It was a good experience to be part of a race with over 350 runners. Christina [Swierz] did a nice job of being tough and aggressive in her first race. I look for her times to improve as the year goes along."

Cleveland State is in action again next week when the Vikings travel to Bowling Green for the Falcon Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 10:45 a.m.
