WESTCHESTER, Ohio - The Vikings cross country team continued their impressive season finishing sixth out of eight teams at the Great Lakes Pre-Regional. For the first time this season, the Vikings ran in a six kilometer race instead of the five kilometers they ran in the first two races.

CSU was led for a third straight week by Sherri Douglas who finished in 15th place in 23:16. She was followed by Julie Piotrowski and Audrey Piotrowski who finished in 34th place (23:57) and 39th place (24:41), respectively. Madeline Singer took 71st place in 28:14 and right after her in 72nd place was Lesley Jones who ran a 28:17. The Vikings finished with Shilah Pratt who finished in 80th place in 32:02.

"We ran a good race," head coach Joe Jaketic said. "But we got some work to do and we are going to have some tough practices these next two weeks."

The Vikings are still completing one of their finest seasons in years. Last years squad did not have enough runners to qualify for a team squad, but the 2005 version is not only competing, but working hard each week.

"The ladies ran tough like they have all year," Jaketic said. "The key is to not have that gap between our runners. With the next week off, we are going to have some good practices and try to close that gap."

The Vikings will have off next week before they continue Ohio Wesleyan for the All-Ohio Invitational.
