CSU holds an overall record of 11-9 during the championship, including three wins during 2007 when the Vikings captured their first Horizon League Championship. Under head coach Chuck Voss, the Vikings have advanced to the semifinals seven times, and have appeared in the championship match four times (04, 07, 08, 09).

HORIZON LEAGUE RECORD:
The Vikings finished 2011 with a 13-3 league mark, which ties the record for most league wins in a season. CSU also posted 13 wins during 2007 and 2009, both seasons in which the Vikings advanced to the championship match.

VIKINGS NOTCH 20-WIN SEASON:
For the fourth time over the last five years the Vikings have reached the 20-win milestone, entering the tournament with a 20-7 record. Overall, CSU has notched 12 20-win seasons, including a 38-11 mark during the 1982 season.

ALL-LEAGUE HONOREES:
The Vikings had two players earn postseason awards, as senior setter Jordan Goad and junior outside hitter Kara Koch were named to the All-Horizon League team. Goad, who ranks third in the league averaging 10.48 assists per set, moved into second place on the all-time career assists list this season and enters the tournament with 4,403. Koch is one of only two league players to rank in the top-10 in both kills per set and digs per set, ranking second with 4.1 kills and 10th with 3.1 digs.

FREASE EARNS HL WEEKLY HONOR:
Junior Marie Frease earned her first weekly honor from the league earlier this week, as she was named the Offensive Player of the Week. Frease was a strong part of the Viking offense in both matches last weekend, posting 13 kills against Green Bay and a career-high 15 against Loyola.

CSU MILESTONES:
Throughout the 2011 regular season, three Vikings reached career milestones, including seniors Jordan Goad and Amy Grabiec and junior Kara Koch. Goad, who has 954 assists on the year, moved into second place on the CSU all-time career assists list and currently has 4,403. Grabiec also moved into second place on an all-time career list, doing so with 1,447 digs after posting 413 so far this season. Koch became the 14th Viking, and 10th under head coach Chuck Voss, to record 1,000 career kills, doing so against Valparaiso (Nov. 5).
