CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State senior middle hitter Megan Barhorst has been named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-District second team. Barhorst was one of six student-athletes selected to the District V team.

Barhorst, who carries a 3.95 GPA as an art major, has played and started in 24 matches for the Vikings this season. She ranks second in the league with 28 service aces (0.34 per set), while she ranks ninth with a .275 attack percentage. At CSU, Barhorst leads the team in service aces and ranks second with 64 total blocks, including a team-high 16 solo blocks.

The Maria Stein, Ohio native is a two-time recipient of CSU's Athletic Academic Excellence award, and has been named to the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll four times throughout her career.

To be nominated for Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve and carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or higher. Team members are selected by a vote of the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America within the district. District V is made up of schools in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.
