CLEVELAND - Cleveland State junior middle hitter Danielle Siefker has been named Defensive Player of the Week by the Horizon League for the period of Oct. 31 - Nov. 6. Siefker, who garnered the league's Offensive Player of the Week nod on Sept. 5, tallied 18 blocks in two matches to help the Vikings clinch at least a share of second place in the Horizon League.

The Kalida, Ohio native matched her season-high with 11 blocks in a four-game victory over UW-Green Bay on Friday, Nov. 4. She then added a match-high seven blocks the next afternoon in a tough loss to league-leading UW-Milwaukee. Siefker currently leads the league in blocks per game (1.38) and is third in hitting percentage (.291).

Cleveland State (17-8, 9-3 HL) closes out the regular season with a trio of matches on the road this week. The Vikings will step out of conference one last time to face Kent State on Monday, Nov. 7, before traveling to Chicago to square off against UIC on Friday, Nov. 11, followed by the season finale the next afternoon at Loyola. CSU will lock up the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Horizon League championship with one win this weekend and can still tie for the regular season title with a pair of victories and a little help from UW-Green Bay (which hosts UW-Milwaukee on Friday).
