As she proved last season, when healthy, Danielle Siefker is on a short list of the best middle hitters in the Horizon League. Voted a co-captain this year, Siefker will be relied on not only for her outstanding blocking, but as a greater threat offensively.

Career

Ranks fifth in hitting percentage (.266), second in block assists (370), eighth in solo blocks (55) and third in total blocks (425). Needs 134 blocks to become CSU's all-time leader.

2005 - Junior Season

All-Horizon League selection at middle hitter...led the league in blocks (1.26) and was second in hitting percentage (.294)...hit .342 with 35 kills in CSU's final three matches of the season...averaged 2.57 blocks (2 solo, 16 assists) against UW-Green Bay and UW-Milwaukee to earn league defensive player of the week nod on Nov. 7...posted double-double at Wright Stat (9/24) with a career-high 16 kills and 11 blocks, making just one error on 37 swings en route to hitting .405...hit .706 (13-1-17) in sweep of Akron (9/10)... earned league player of the week and tournament MVP honors after hitting .542 with 13 blocks at the Duquesne Invitational (9/2-3)...had 18 matches with double-digit kills, hitting .300 or better 14 times.

2004 - Sophomore Season

Ranked second in the league in blocks (1.35) and ninth in hitting percentage (.232)...earned a spot on the Horizon League Championship all-tournament team after hitting .250 with 2.31 blocks per game...hit .400 with 12 blocks in championship match against Loyola (11/21)...set a league record with 13 block assists in semifinal win over UW-Milwaukee (11/20) ...notched 10 kills and 10 blocks at Robert Morris (11/2)...tallied a season-high 13 kills versus IUPUI (9/18)...opened the season with a double-double (11K, 10B) in win over Kent State (9/1)...had four or more blocks on 16 occasions... started all 28 matches at middle hitter.

2003 - Freshman Season

Earned Horizon League All-Newcomer honors... ranked sixth in the conference with 1.12 blocks per game...finished second on team with 23 solo and 144 total blocks...posted six matches with double-digit kills and 15 with at least five blocks...tallied season-high 13 kills at UW-Milwaukee (9/26)...hit .500 (7-0-14) versus Boston College (8/29) with a season-best 10 blocks...named to the all-tournament team at the Western New York Invitational...started at middle hitter all season long.

High School

Lettered three seasons at Kalida as a middle hitter...was named second team all-Ohio at Division IV in 2002...team captain in 2001-02 and team MVP in 2003...also earned all-Putnam County League honors in 2002...first team all-district and league player of the year in 2002...posted a .531 hitting percentage her senior year...set school season records for kills (304) and attacks (526) and established single match marks with 23 kills and 43 attempts...team finished 21-4 her senior season and was league champions in 2000 and 2002...also lettered four years in basketball as a forward...hoops team also won league title in 2002.

Born July 31, 1984 in Lima, Ohio...daughter of Roger and Cheryl Siefker...has four brothers, Adam, Ryan, Bradley and Trevor as well as three sisters, Allison, Kayla and Brooke...played for both the Northwest and Premier Volleyball Clubs... earned CSU's Athletic Academic Excellence Award each of the past three years...majoring in nursing and hopes to become a pediatric nurse.
