CLEVELAND - Cleveland State senior outside hitter Jenna Maddocks has been named Horizon League Player of the Week for the period from Oct. 17-23. In two matches, the Norwalk, Ohio native hit .338 with 36 kills and 26 digs to help the Vikings gain a share of first place in the Horizon League while extending their winning streak to six matches.

Maddocks led CSU to its second straight weekend sweep with her solid play at outside. In Friday's five-game win over Wright State, she tallied season-highs with 18 kills and 22 digs while hitting .278 on a season-high 54 swings. In Saturday's sweep of Butler, she notched 14 kills and a .478 hitting percentage to help snap a five-match losing streak against the Bulldogs.

This marks the first time in her career that Maddocks has received the league's weekly honor. She joins teammates Danielle Siefker (Sept. 5), Jenni Ramminger (Sept. 19) and Nickole Kennedy (Oct. 17) as Vikings to be recognized this season.

Cleveland State (15-6, 7-2 HL) closes out its six-match homestand on Tuesday, Oct. 25 when Bowling Green comes to Woodling Gymnasium for a 7:00 p.m. match. Call (216) 687-4848 for ticket information.
