YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Liz Fazio had 13 kills and Kayla Lefeld and Beth Greulich added 11 apiece as Cleveland State topped Youngstown State, 3-1, in the Horizon League regular season finale on Friday night at the Beeghley Center.

Match scores were 22-25, 25-20, 25-14, 25-22.

Lefeld also added a match-best 17 digs for a double-double, while Jordan Bateman chipped in 13 digs.

CSU concludes the regular season with an 8-18 mark and a 7-9 record in league play, while Youngstown State fell to 11-16 overall (4-12 HL).

"This was a nice win for us to conclude the regular season as we prepare for the league championship," head coach Chuck Voss said. "After losing the first set, we were able to battle back and win three straight. We stayed tough mentally and started to swing well as we continued our good defensive play."

The Vikings hit .277 for the match, while holding the Penguins to a .150 attack percentage, including a -.143 percentage in the third set.

Amy Benz and Jenni Ramminger finished with nine kills each for the Vikings, while Jordan Goad had 46 assists, seven digs and four kills.

After dropping the first set, the Vikings rallied back in a big way, hitting .417 (20-5-36) in the second set to even up the match at one set apiece. CSU had just two errors in the third set and was aided by nine attack errors by the Penguins.

The fourth set was close throughout until CSU broke a 20-20 tie with three straight points to take a 23-20 lead.

YSU was led by a 13 kill, 13 dig effort by Ebony Barbosa, while Kaitlin O'Hara had 12 kills.

The Vikings will now await an announcement from the league office to find out their seed for the Horizon League Championship which will take place from Nov. 20-23 in Woodling Gym.
