Liz Fazio may have been slowed down by a knee injury over the last few years, but that doesn't mean she is not still effective. One of the more athletic players in the league with an incredible vertical leap, Fazio begins her final season just 151 kills shy of reaching 1,000 for her career. When on the floor, teams must pay attention to Fazio as she has grown into one of the best finishers from the outside.

2008 SEASON (JUNIOR)

•Played in 27 matches and 95 sets, as knee injury forced her out of three matches and several sets.

•Voted to Academic All-Horizon League team.

•Recorded 206 kills, 46 digs and 32 blocks.

•Had eight matches with double-digit kills.

•Had 11 kills in league championship match vs. Milwaukee (11/23) after totaling 12 kills in semifinal win against Valparaiso (11/22).

•Amassed 13 kills and hit .323 in regular season finale win at Youngstown State (11/14).

•Notched season-highs of 18 kills and four blocks vs. Wright State (10/25), while hitting .351.

•Totaled 13 kills at Loyola (10/18), adding 11 at Valparaiso (10/3) and 10 vs. Kansas (9/12).

2007 SEASON (SOPHOMORE)

•Played in 30 matches, finishing fifth on the team with 271 kills while hitting .179.

•Named to Kentucky Invitational All-Tournament team after posting 27 kills, nine digs and four aces as CSU swept Austin Peay and Georgetown.

•Named Horizon League Scholar-Athlete of the Week (9/1).

•Selected to Academic All-Horizon League team.

•Recorded double-digit kills in first eight matches she played in, including a season-best 19 at Southern Illinois (9/7).

•Had 16 kills and five digs vs. Kent State (8/28).

•Tallied 15 kills and six digs in win over regular season champion Milwaukee (9/29).

•Registered 13 kills and career-high tying five blocks at Green Bay (10/20).

•Had 15 kills in league tournament semifinal win over Wright State (11/17) and came back with eight kills and seven digs in finals against Valparaiso (11/18).

2006 SEASON (FRESHMAN)

•Named to Horizon League All-Newcomer team, as well as the Academic All-Horizon League team.

•All-Tournament team pick at Temple Invitational, UNC Asheville Invitational and Oakland Invitational.

•Finished second in the league in kills per game (3.72) and third in points per match (4.17).

•Played in and started all 28 matches.

•Led team in total attack attempts (1,028) and was third in digs (214).

•Posted double digit kills in 22 matches, including career-best 26 on two occasions (8/26 at Temple and 9/8 vs. Bowling Green).

•Hit a career-high .455 (13-3-22) against Iona (8/26) in first career collegiate match.

•Notched 13 kills and 13 digs against East Tennessee State (9/2) for first of six double-doubles.

•Registered 17 kills and career-high five blocks in league semifinal loss to UIC (11/18).

•Named Horizon League Player of the Week on Aug. 28 after averaging 16.3 kills and 5.7 digs per match at the Temple Invitational.

HIGH SCHOOL

•Conference player of the year as a senior at Coventry High School for coach Heather Peterson.

•Two-time all-district pick and a three-time all-conference selection.

•Played in the district all-star game as a senior after posting 302 kills, 76 digs and 71 blocks.

•All-state selection in track and the conference runner of the year as both a senior and a junior.

•Finished third in the state in 100 hurdles and fifth in the long jump.

PERSONAL

•Born Feb. 8, 1987 in Akron, Ohio.

•Daughter of Mary Beth and Tom Fazio.

•Has a younger brother, Nick, and a younger sister, Carly.

•Was a member of National Honor Society.

•Earned CSU's Athletic Academic Excellence Award in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

•Biology major.
