CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State track and field team will begin its 2019 outdoor slate this weekend, competing at the 49er Classic in Charlotte, N.C.

Complete 49er Classic Schedule | Field events are slated to begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday and 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while running events are scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. both days.

2019 Outdoor Schedule | This weekend's meet will be the first of six outdoor meets for the Vikings this season, and marks the first time that Cleveland State will be competing in the state of North Carolina.

#HLTF Indoor Honors | Last time out, Hannah Gaskins and Monica Johnson earned individual honors at the Horizon League Indoor Championship, as Gaskins finished second in the Pentathlon to earn Second Team accolades, while Johnson was named Honorable Mention after placing third in the 60 Meter Hurdles. The 4x400 Relay team of Anna Brandt, Tylar Mixon, Mijah Collier, and Hannah Gaskins also placed third.

The Vikings | Cleveland State is under the direction of third-year head coach Madeleine Outman Carleton, and returns 11 letterwinners from last year's outdoor squad. Included in this group is the duo of Hannah Gaskins and Anna Brandt, who earned individual All-Horizon League honors at the #HLTF Outdoor Championship last season.
