Women's Swimming And Diving Falls To Undefeated Marshall; Back Home Tomorrow

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's swimming and diving team fell to Marshall on Friday night, 192-103.

The women fell to 1-4 on the year while Marshall improved to 5-0. Both teams will be back at Busbey Natatorium in less than 24 hours as the Vikings will host a tri-meet tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. with Marshall and St. Bonaventure. The CSU men will host St. Bonaventure at the same time in a dual meet format.

The Herd got out to a quick start, taking home first place in the first nine events. The Vikings, though, battled through and completed the night with several respectable finishes.

Earning a first-place finish, Michaela Bargardi's 200 Back time of 2:08.72 was the top of the season in that event for the Vikings.

Tori Taffner and Samantha Sposet continued their consistency on the dive board, finishing second (247.65) and third (229.35) respectively in the 3M dive and first (243.00) and second (226.20) respectively in the 1M dive.

The 400 Medley Relay team of Bargardi, Tobie Zeller, Molly McNamara and Anna Evans finished second (4:01.39). McNamara (200 Free), Bargardi (100 Back), Cassie Oltman (50 Free), Bethany Robertson (500 Free) and Emma Flynn (200 IM) all took home individual second place finishes.

Following tomorrow's action with Marshall and St. Bonaventure, the Vikings will be back in action Thursday (Nov. 12) at Ohio State at 6:00 p.m.
