Box Score

The Vikings snapped a six-game losing streak with a win in the first game of a doubleheader against Midwestern Collegiate Conference (MCC) rival Detroit, 4-0. CSU's Kim Evans pitched her second shutout of the year in earning her fifth win.

The Vikes got off to a quick start against the Titans, as Tiffany Stocker led off the first with a slap single to left. She stole second and advanced to third on a groundout by Lindsay Gervais. Jackie Miller brought her in on a sacrifice fly to center.

The Vikings struck again in the third by scoring the final three runs of the game. Jackie Richards singled and Stocker was hit by a pitch to put two runners on. Gervias laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Richards and Stocker into scoring position. Jackie Miller followed with a single to score Richards. Miller, who continued an 11-game hitting streak, also stole second to put herself in scoring position. Jessica Miller brought in Stocker and Jackie Miller with a double to left. The Millers finished with two RBI apiece.

In the nightcap the Titans' Bridget Teisl avenged her game one loss with a 3-2 victory. Teisl started the second game after Detroit's second starter, Krista Peters, was knocked out of game one after a collision in right field with first baseman Dayna Rodrigues.

CSU got on top first again with an RBI double by Michelle Beightol that scored Tiffany Nofziger in the second inning. However, the lead did not last long. An inning later Detroit's Devon Brisky homered to knot the score at one.

The Vikes came back in the fourth inning with doubles by Jessica Miller and Lisa Horton. Horton picked up the RBI to gain the lead back, 2-1. Again the Titans came fighting back and tied the score on a Rodrigues homerun.

In the seventh Brisky doubled off CSU starter Lindsay Gervais. After a walk Steph Strauss doubled in the winning run for Detroit.
