CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State University wrestling team is ranked No. 23 in the second Mid-Major poll conducted by the National Wrestling Media Association. The poll was released on Tuesday (Nov. 22) and does not include the Vikings 29-9 win over John Carroll later that night.

The NWMA Division I Mid-Major Poll includes NCAA Division I wrestling schools that do not sponsor a football program in a BCS conference. Rankings are based on dual performance. The poll is endorsed by the National Wrestling Media Association and is chaired by the National Collegiate Open.

The voting panel consists of BuckeyeWrestling.com, IntermatWrestle.com, TheMat.com, TheOpenMat.com and WrestlingReport.com.

Ben Stehura's team was not included in the initial top-25 and was the only new program to appear in the second poll.

Cleveland State, now 2-2 overall, went 1-2 at the Wrestle for a Cure Duals in Harrisburg, Pa. on Nov. 12. The Vikings defeated The Citadel 22-12 before falling to Boston University and Old Dominion. The Terriers are 14th and the Monarchs 17th in the new poll.

Corey Carlo and Josh Palivoda led the charge to help CSU appear in the poll as both went 3-0 in Harrisburg.

Edinboro (seventh), Bloomsburg (15th), Clarion (16th) and Lock Haven (22nd) of the Eastern Wrestling League are all included in the poll.

Eastern Michigan (1-0), Cleveland State's next opponent, was the first school out of the top-25. The Eagles visit Woodling Gymnasium next Thursday (Dec. 1) at 7:00 p.m.
