Ben Stehura enters his fifth season as the head coach of the Cleveland State wrestling program, continuing to build the program with young and talented wrestlers.

During his first season at the helm, Stehura continued the trend of coaching a CSU wrestler to the NCAA Championship, leading a Viking grappler to the national tournament for the 48th consecutive season as heavyweight Rashard Goff represented CSU on the national stage.

Stehura also coached Goff to an EWL heavyweight championship, the first league champion for CSU since 2006.

Stehura will use his experience with coaching a young program and lead the Vikings during the 2012-13 season, working to improve in the EWL and continuing the history and tradition of CSU wrestling.

For five seasons before coming to CSU, Stehura was the head coach at Limestone College, a Division II college, in Gaffney, South Carolina. The first head coach in Limestone College history, Stehura played an integral part in developing the program. During 2007-08, he guided the Saints to a 15-4-1 mark, the first winning season in team history. While there he coached one NCAA National Champion, three NCAA All-Americans, five NCAA National Qualifiers and eight NCAA All-Academic team members.

He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant for Cleveland State in 2001 under Jack Effner. During that time he was part of a staff that qualified 10 wrestlers for the NCAA Championships, had three EWL individual champions and 14 EWL place winners. In addition, the 2003 squad finished third at the EWL Championship after placing second during the dual meet campaign.

Stehura has also coached three U.S. Senior Open All-Americans, four Olympic Team Trial Qualifiers and two Olympic alternates.

He is a 2000 graduate of Lock Haven University where he earned his Bachelor's of Science in secondary education/geography and social studies. In 2003, Stehura earned his Master's Degree in Education Administration.

Stehura was a three year starter on the Bald Eagle's Wrestling team. He earned a fourth and fifth place finish at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference tournament along with a fourth place finish at the EWL Tournament. He was also a member of the EWL All-Academic Team.

A member of the National Wrestling Coaches Association, Stehura served as a member of the NCAA Division II East Regional Ranking Committee and the South Carolina Athletics Coaches Association while at Limestone.

Stehura resides in nearby Richmond Heights, Ohio with his wife and two children.

He is a graduate of Jefferson High, where he was a two-time state qualifier placing fifth at the OHSAA state tournament as a senior.
