Second Half Of Lineup Leads CSU To 5-2 Win

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Wright State won at Nos. 1 and 2 singles but Cleveland State controlled every other position in a 5-2 win over the Raiders on Saturday at River Oaks Racquet Club. The win moves CSU to 15-6 overall and 2-0 in Horizon League play.

 

After Cleveland State won at Nos. 1 and 3 doubles to win the doubles point, the Vikings took four of six in singles play. Freshman Ryan Hamning led the way with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles and senior Dan Singer and sophomores Rob West and Steven Wipprecht all won in straight sets.

 

"The second half of our lineup played well and came up huge for us," head coach Brian Etzkin said.

 

 Lance Koetter and Tony Teufel scored wins in the top two spots for the Raiders.

 

The Vikings return to action on Friday, April 13 at UW-Green Bay.
