Vikings Look to Bounce Back at Detroit

•The Cleveland State men's soccer team continues the 2014 regular season with one Horizon League match this weekend.

• The Vikings return to league play on Saturday (Oct. 25) with a 1:00 p.m. match at Detroit at Titan Field.

• The Vikings are 5-8 this year and 3-2 in Horizon League play.

• Detroit's record this year is 7-4-2 and the Titans are second place in the league with a 4-1 mark.

• CSU played two games last week, winning 3-1 at Wright State and falling at home to Valparaiso 1-0.

• Wright State struck first but CSU scored three unanswered goals in the second half to take a 3-1 victory.

Alec Nagucki scored two goals and Jake Lagania added another for his first goal of the season.

Valparaiso used a goal in the 58th minute that was good enough to beat CSU. 

• The Vikings had the advantage in corner kicks in each game for a total of 12-5

Nick Ciraldo played all 180-minutes in goal and made seven total saves throughout the week. 

Alec Nagucki leads the team with six points with Alvaro Pichard next with five points and Sergio Manesio, Dan Koniarczyk, and Hesham Hammouda all just  behind with four points.

Nick Ciraldo has played in 12 games and made 48 saves throughout this season. 

• The Vikings will play just six home matches this year with 11 contests on the road. CSU played eight straight matches away from home from Aug. 31 through Oct. 4.

• CSU will play four games this year against teams that advanced to the NCAA Championship last season (Akron, California, Milwaukee, Wake Forest).

• CSU returns to action with two games next week, playing at Akron on Tuesday (Oct. 28) at FirstEnergy Stadium-Cub Cadet Field at 7:00 p.m. and hosting UIC on Saturday (Nov. 1) at Krenzler Field at 7 p.m.
