Vikings Fall 1-0 in Tight Match to Valparaiso

CLEVELAND, Ohio-  The Cleveland State men's soccer team played their final home game of the regular season on Saturday night at Krenzler Field.

The Vikings (7-11-0, HL 3-3-0) played a hard fought match all night long, but could not pull it out in the end.  The lone goal of the game came late in the second half at the 86:02 minute-mark, as Valparaiso's Charles Barden scored off of a penalty kick to seal the victory, 1-0.

The Vikings attempted eight shots in the match to Valparaiso's seven.  Goalkeeper Austin Saini had three saves in the contest.  Admir Suljevic and Mike Derezic attempted two of the eight shots in the game for CSU.

The Vikings will play their final game of the 2013 regular season as Cleveland State will travel to Milwaukee on Saturday (Nov. 9), with kickoff beginning at 8:00 p.m.
