HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Cleveland State carded a final round 291 and finished fifth of 17 teams at the 54-hole F&M Bank Austin Peay Invitational on Tuesday at The Links at Novadell, a par-72, 6,886-yard course.

It was the final fall tournament of the season for the Vikings.

"It was a little tougher today because the wind was blowing in a different direction," assistant coach Nathan Miklos said. "We were able to get off to a pretty good start, but just couldn't sustain anything consistently. The guys really did a nice job hanging in there and picking up a couple of shots down the stretch.

"Overall it was a good fall season. I think we have the potential to play better and that's what we will work on as we prepare for the spring season and conference championship.

Senior Jake Scott led the Vikings for the fifth time this fall, carding three rounds of 71 (213) to finish tied for ninth. Junior Patrick Elber tied for 20th at 217 (69-75-73), while junior Kyle Cobb tied for 36th at 222 (73-75-74).

The Vikings will now be out of action until they open the spring slate on Feb. 22-23 at the Francis Marion Invitational in Florence, S.C.
