Vikings Total 582 on First Day at Austin Peay Invitational

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Cleveland State shot rounds of 289 and 293 for an opening day total of 582 at the 54-hole F&M Bank Austin Peay Invitational on Monday at The Links at Novadell, a par-72, 6,886-yard course.

The Vikings are one of 17 teams in the field.

"We had a pretty decent day overall," assistant coach Nathan Miklos said. "Pat really had an impressive first round and made a huge difference for us and Jake was once again solid and consistent all day. We just need to go out tomorrow and put together another solid round to conclude our fall season."

Junior Patrick Elber carded a career-low 69 in today's first round and followed that with a 75 for a two-round total of 144. Elber was three over through the first six holes in round one, but was able to play the final 10 holes in six-under-par, including holing out with a wedge on a par-4.

Senior Jake Scott was once again CSU's top finisher, shooting a pair of 71's today for a two-round total of 142.

The event will conclude with the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
