WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Cleveland State wound up in 16th place at the Joe Agee Invitational as freshman Patrick Elber carded a career-low 71 to move up into a tie for 24th. William & Mary hosted the 18-team field at the 6,646 yard, par 70 Stonehouse GC.

Old Dominion fired the low round of the day on Tuesday, posting a 277 to erase a one-shot deficit en route to defeating Loyola (Md.) by nine strokes (842-851). Richmond wound up in third place at 867, while the Vikings checked in at 897.

Richmond's Jordan Utley posted a final-round 68 to earn medalist honors at five-under par (205), edging Loyola's Blake Fugerson -- the second-round leader -- by a single stroke. East Carolina's Andre Thorsen was third at 207. Freshman Patrick Elber led the Vikings with a 218 to finish in a tie for 29th, while senior Ben Grandy tied for 33rd at 221.

"We still need to eliminate some of the big numbers we're posting on holes, but I thought we did a better job of playing smarter today," CSU head coach Brian Varsey said. "Patrick really got stronger as the tournament went along and everyone on the team really battled hard today."

Cleveland State closes out its fall schedule at the Rex Chaney Classic, which is hosted by Morehead State on Oct. 9-10 at Eagle Trace CC.
