COLUMBUS, Ohio - Cleveland State carded a final round 314 and finished 23rd of 27 teams at the 2008 NCAA Central Regional Championship at the par-71, 7,420-yard Scarlet Course.
"This was a great way for us to end the season," head coach Steve Weir said. "It was really windy today and I thought we stayed mentally tough throughout the round. It is exciting to know that we have four of our top five players back for next season and we are going to continue to work hard and improve upon this year's finish."
Playing in windy conditions throughout the day, the Vikings added a 314 in the final round to go along with 313 and 299 in the opening rounds and finish ahead of Marquette, Baylor, Sacred Heart and Loyola.
CSU was playing in the regional championship for the second time in three seasons.
Junior Jake Scott shot a final round 74 and wound up tied for 41st place with rounds of 79-73-74 (229).
Kent Monas shot a 78 on Saturday, while Kyle Cobb (80), Doug Barber (82) and Patrick Elber (85) rounded out CSU's contingent.
