Second Round of NCAA Regional Golf Suspended

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Due to rain and inclement weather, the second round of the NCAA Men's Golf Central Regional Championship was suspended from 4:10 p.m. until 6:40 p.m. and the decision was the made to postpone the second round.

It was the second time the round was suspended, as lightning and rain also forced officials to suspend play from 1:08 p.m. until 3:18 p.m.

The second round will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, with players continuing from their suspended point and then continuing right into the third and final round.

The 54-hole event is being played at the par-72, 7,372-yard The Club at Olde Stone.

Cleveland State players were between holes 12 and 15 when the weather turned bad. The Vikings were 17-over-par for the round and will continue the second round in 12th place out of 14 teams.

Junior Patrick Elber had CSU's low round going, standing at two-over-par through 13 holes. Junior Kyle Cobb was four-over through 14, while senior Jake Scott was five-over through 15 and sophomore Kent Monas six-over through 12 holes.

The top five teams and the low individual not on those teams will qualify for the NCAA Championships from May 26-30 at The Inverness Club in Toledo.
