LEXINGTON, Ky. - Cleveland State shot 306 in both the first and second rounds and is in fifth place out of eight teams at the 2010 Horizon League Championship. The 54 hole event is being played at the par-72, 7,032 yard Kearney Hills G.C.

"It was a tough day today in some very difficult conditions, but I thought the guys did a good job of hanging in there," head coach Steve Weir said. "We had a great start, but a rough back nine sent us back to the middle of the pack and then we just couldn't sustain anything in the second round."

Detroit (587) holds a one shot lead over Green Bay (588) after two rounds. They are followed by Wright State (598), Youngstown State (601), Cleveland State, Butler (615), Loyola (624) and Valparaiso (639).

Freshman Michael Klaric is tied for 11th place to lead the Vikings with a two-round total of 149. He opened with a 76, but came back with a 73 in the second round. Senior Kyle Cobb shot rounds of 75-75 (150) and is tied for 14th place.

The final round of the championship is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday with teams playing the final 18 holes.
