PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Cleveland State shot a final round 295 to finish third of nine teams at the 54-hole Detroit Titan Invitational on Saturday morning at the par-72, 6,783-yard, Golden Fox Golf Course.

The Vikings finished the tournament with a 54-hole total of 897 (303-299-295) to top fourth place Youngstown State by two shots. Detroit won the event at 878 and was followed by runner-up Loyola (886).

"We had a nice comeback from our rounds yesterday, but never really got anything going today," head coach Steve Weir said. "Now we have to set our sights on the league championship next week and prepare for it."

Senior Doug Barber, who won the Wright State Invitational two weeks ago, posted his second straight top-five finish as he tied for fourth place at 220 (72-73-75).

Sophomore Patrick Elber carded rounds of 80-76-70 (226) to tie for 15th place.

The Vikings have one final tune-up before the Horizon League Championship as CSU will compete at the Kent State First Energy Classic on April 26.
