JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Cleveland State earned a tie for fourth at the Butler North/South Intercollegiate in its first action of the spring season. Flagler won the 10-team event at the 6,482-yard, par 72 Jacksonville Beach Golf Club.
Flagler finished at 577 to edge Bethune-Cookman by just two strokes. Gonzaga was third at 589, while the Vikings and Evansville both came in at 603.
Bethune-Cookman's Troy Coker claimed medalist honors at 141, while Steven Davis (Flagler) and Brandon Crick (Gonzaga) tied for second at 143. Ben Grandy paced CSU with a 148 to finish tied for 11th.
Cleveland State returns to action on March 19-20 at the Butler Spring Invitational at Prestwick Country Club in Indianapolis.
