HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Cleveland State shot a final round 311 and moved up one spot to finish seventh of 16 teams at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate on Tuesday. CSU shot rounds of 308-313 on Monday and was tied for eighth place after 36 holes.

The 54-hole event was played at the 6,850-yard, par-72 Wexford Plantation and was hosted by Francis Marion.

"Overall, I am pleased with how we played down here this week," head coach Steve Weir said. "We haven't been outside in a few months, but our swings were good and our short games were OK. The thing that I was most pleased with is that we played our games and didn't make any mental mistakes."

CSU's 54-hole total of 929 was just one shot behind sixth place Wofford (928) and 10 shots back of fifth place Presbyterian (919).

South Carolina-Aiken carded rounds of 292-299-306 (897) to win the team title over Richmond by eight shots.

CSU's Patrick Elber paced the Vikings with a ninth place showing, shooting a 76 today after rounds of 74 and 77 on Monday for a 54-hole total of 227.

Jake Scott (79-78-75) and Kyle Cobb (74-81-77) tied for 23rd place at 232.

USC-Aiken's Roberto Diaz earned medalist honors, carding rounds of 70-74-70 (214).

The Vikings will be out of action until CSU competes at the Desert Shootout in Phoenix, Ariz., from March 19-21.
