- Loyola scored the first five points of the game (5-0, 16:45) before CSU answered with 13 of the next 14 (13-6, 11:48) and never trailed, eventually leading by as many as 18 (41-23, 1:16) in the first half.
- Loyola would close to within 14 in the second half (47-33, 16:10)before a 10-2 Viking run would push the lead past 20 (57-35, 12:31) with Loyola coming no closer than 19 the rest of the way.
- The win improved CSU to 14-1 on the year (joining Syracuse as the only other 14-game winner in the country) and 3-0 in Horizon League play. Loyola slipped to 9-5 (0-3).
- The win also extended CSU's Wolstein Center winning streak to 11, leaving CSU two wins short of the building record of 13 wins set from Dec., 20098 to Nov. 2009.
- The victory allowed CSU to end the 2010 calendar year with a 26-8 record, with the 26 wins trailing only the 29-4 record amassed in 1986.
- The contest was the 150th in the CSU head coaching career of Gary Waters, making him the sixth Viking head coach to reach that plateau. CSU is 87-63 (.580) under Waters.

- CSU limited Loyola to .375 shooting (18-48), the ninth opponent to shoot 40-percent or lower (in 15 games).
