Miscellaneous Notes
l This was the 36th meeting between CSU and Milwaukee with the Panthers now owning a 21-15 advantage, including a 9-8 record in games played in Cleveland.
l The loss drops CSU to 23-7 overall and 12-5 in league play, creating a scenario where Milwaukee (12-5), Butler (12-5) and Valparaiso (11-5 and playing) could end the night in a four-way tie for first place in the league standings with one way to go. In the event this happens, Milwaukee would need a win over YSU on Saturday to claim the top seed.
l The loss drops the Vikings to 14-2 at home this year, leaving CSU one win short of the school record for home wins in a season (1985-86 & 1987-88).
l The starting lineup of Norris Cole, Trey Harmon, Jeremy Montgomery, Tim Kamczyc & Aaron Pogue started their 30th straight game together. CSU is one of three teams to use the same lineup in every game (Missouri State & St. Bonaventure).
l After scoring just six points in his last six games, Josh McCoy came off the bench to score 13 points, his second highest scoring total at CSU.
l CSU led by as many as three points early (3-0, 19:28). With the Vikings ahead 7-5 (16:17), Milwaukee took control with a 19-4 run to lead 24-11 (11:57). The lead grew to as many as 17 (34-17, 5:52) before CSU rallied to trail 41-32 at half.
l The Vikings scored the first four points of the second half to close to 41-36 (18:41) but UWM ran off sevn straight to push the lead to double figures (48-36, 16:57) and eventually led by 19 (61-42, 12:53). CSU got back in it, using a (16-4 run over a 4:04 period to pull to within 71-61 (3:56). The Vikings would get no closer than the four point final down the stretch.
l After going 10-for-14 from three-point in the first meeting (.714), the Vikings could manage just 4-for-21 shooting (.190).
