New (1986-1989), was a standout goalkeeper for the Vikings from 1986-1989. He held the program records for goals against average (1.04), shutouts (29), and games started by a goalkeeper (68). He also ranks sixth in career saves (267).
 
He led the Vikings to their first-ever league championship in 1986, posting an 0.85 goals against average, the second lowest in school history, along with nine shutouts, the second most in CSU history. New led the league with 8.5 shutouts in 1989, helping CSU to a program-best 14-win season. He later returned to the program in 1992 to serve as a graduate assistant.
