Butler (2005-09) was an integral part of building a women's basketball team that captured the program's first-ever Horizon League Tournament Championship during the 2007-08 season. As a two-time Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year, Butler became just the third player in league history to be named to the league's All-Defensive Team four times – earning the distinction after every season that she wore the Green & White.

As one of just two players in school history with 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 250 steals, Butler graduated ranked in the top-10 in the CSU Career Record Book in all three categories – points (1,158), rebounds (670) and steals (296). Butler lead the Horizon League in steals as a freshman and sophomore, while she became one of just three players in program history to record 10+ steals in a single-game when she notched 10 takeaways at Milwaukee during her final year as a Viking.

During her final two seasons, Butler helped the Vikings to back-to-back 19-win campaigns, marking the first time that Cleveland State had reached the 19-win plateau in over 20 years.

Butler will become the 12th women's basketball student-athlete to be inducted into the Cleveland State Athletics Hall of Fame.
