CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State cross country team will continue the 2011 season this weekend as the Vikings are set for the Penn State National on Friday, October 14. The women's collegiate race will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday morning.

CSU will be one of 33 teams competing at the Penn State National, and one of two teams from the Horizon League, joining Youngstown State.

"This will be our last race before the Horizon League Championship, so it is a good opportunity for us to see where we are in terms of preparation," head coach Joe Jaketic said. "There will be some great competition at the race this weekend and I'm excited to see what we can do."

The Vikings are coming off a second place finish at the Shawnee State Invitational last Friday (Oct. 7), where CSU placed three runners in the top-10 and seven in the top-20. Kelly Zaleski and Brittany Elmlinger each ran a season-best last week, Zaleski finishing eighth in 19:49 and Elmlinger finishing 18th in 20:57.

Allison Craine, who paced the Vikings with a sixth place finish at the Shawnee State Invite, earned her second Horizon League weekly honor as she was named the Runner of the Week on Monday (Oct. 10). Craine ran a 19:40 last Friday, marking her third sub-20 minute 5k of the season and her fourth top-10 finish.
