CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) recently named new officers for the 2011-2012 academic year.

Senior cross country runner Kelly Zaleski was appointed as the president, while junior softball player Gabby Gillilan was named vice president. Junior women's tennis player Nicole Janek was assigned to the role of secretary and senior men's diver Matt DiMasso was voted treasurer.

"We are very excited about the upcoming year," Zaleski said. "We just got back from the Horizon League meetings this week where we were able to talk about some new and exciting ideas that we plan to implement this year. This is a very exciting time for Cleveland State athletics and we look forward to a great year."

The NCAA's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee's primary goal is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare and fostering a positive student-athlete image.

To achieve these goals, CSU's own SAAC is comprised of two representatives from each varsity team.
