NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Cleveland State cross country team was recently honored with a public recognition award from the NCAA for its multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) score.

CSU was one of 154 NCAA Division I Cross Country and Track & Field teams to be honored, including just one of 33 women's cross country teams and the only team from the Horizon League.

"This is a wonderful honor for the cross country program," head coach Joe Jaketic said. "For our program to be in such elite company is another indication of the drive and focus of our student-athletes. I think this shows that our student-athletes are indeed students first and I want to thank the NCAA for this recognition."

Division I teams selected for public recognition earned a multi-year APR of at least 965 on a 1,000 point scale. Teams also had to score a multi-year APR in the top 10% of all teams in their sport to achieve recognition.
